Description

The protection of bees is a major issue since it concerns biodiversity, food production and the environment. In short, everything that is important to us!

A PURE AND ARTISANAL HONEY

After a season of observation and learning alongside Ana, the village beekeeper, we literally fell in love with these little workers, hard workers.
Ana's love of bees is passed on from generation to generation. It is with passion that she trained us. Even today, she accompanies us at each stage of the production of this nectar of life.
Pachamama Terra Medica honey is completely natural and handcrafted. It comes from a very small production unit that we never force to produce, we are content simply to ensure the well-being of the bees who give it back to us so well! At the end of the season, we only take their surplus production, the rest serves as a food reserve for them to spend the winter comfortably.

HIS TASTE

The characteristics of Pachamama honey result from the extraordinary abundance of wild flora in the Alentejo. The favorable climatic conditions and the inviolate nature which extends to us as far as the eye can see give our honey a taste, just like the foraged Feurs, wild, pure and warm. Accompanied by a light woody note. Her beautiful dress is amber in color.
The main flowers foraged are lavender stoechas, rosemary, thyme, cistus ladaniferous, bugloss, holm oak, citrus fruits, etc. Its sweet smells of ripe fruit awaken the taste buds once in the mouth. With its very sweetness, it is a sweet honey, without any bitterness in the mouth.

ITS THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

Anti-infectives and antibiotics
Honey prevents bacterial, viral or fungal proliferation thanks to an enzyme, glucose oxidase, which produces hydrogen peroxide (as in hydrogen peroxide) which is a natural antiseptic. In addition, it has a low protein concentration which prevents bacteria from growing. Its acidity hinders the multiplication of bacteria, completing its antibacterial action. It can be used for this purpose both at the cutaneous level and in ingestion for the respiratory or digestive sphere.

healing properties
Often used as an antiseptic to treat wounds, honey also has healing properties which once again justify its use on the skin. It then prevents the development of bacteria and regenerates the skin tissue to have good healing.

Antioxidant properties
Thanks to the presence of many flavonoids, honey has an important antioxidant power, free radicals are thus neutralized. Honey is therefore beneficial in the prevention of certain cancers or certain cardiovascular diseases.

Energetic and toning properties
Honey is a general tonic for the body which notably strengthens the immune defences. It therefore makes it possible to better resist microbial infections and is an ally of choice when you feel tired or feverish.

Sedative and calming properties
Honey releases serotonin, a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep.

Respiratory properties
Against coughs or sore throats, honey will bring an immediate and lasting soothing effect. Thanks to its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, it is effective in calming cold symptoms and soothing your respiratory system. It will calm respiratory irritations and will reduce the adhesion of bacteria to the respiratory wall, thus preventing their proliferation.
