Propolis is a more or less solid resin that protects the buds and young shoots of certain trees. A real barrier against pathogenic agents, the bees recover it in order to bring it back to the hive and use it to protect the latter from microbial diseases. And if it's good for the hives, it's good for us!

Indeed, Propolis has very good anti-infectious and immunostimulant properties, it will be particularly effective in winter, in support of the ENT and pulmonary spheres but also against skin conditions.

 

Its therapeutic properties

Immunostimulants
Propolis stimulates the body's defenses by increasing the production of antibodies and lymphocytes to defend against external attacks such as bacteria, viruses and fungi.

Antimicrobials
Propolis is effective against pharyngitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, colds but also against asthma. It is an antibiotic active on multiresistant staphylococci, streptococci, Helicobacter pylori (responsible for stomach ulcers), Borrelia burgdorferi (bacteria of Lyme disease), and Propionibacterium acnes (the bacteria responsible for acne ). It is an active antifungal on Candida albicans and Aspergillus trichophyton. Propolis helps fight against skin infections such as warts and mycosis.

Antivirals
Flavonoids also help fight against viruses because they inhibit the enzyme allowing viruses to release pathogenic viral material in the body, thus preventing their spread.
Anti-inflammatories, antitussives: Propolis reduces inflammation caused by infections of the respiratory system and the ENT sphere. It also helps soothe coughs.

Antiseptics, disinfectants
Used cutaneously, Propolis can disinfect wounds and wounds.

antispasmodics
Quercetin and kaempferide have a powerful antispasmodic action.

Anesthetics
Propolis is a powerful anesthetic, superior to cocaine. This property is conferred by caffeic acid and pinocembrine, hence the tingling sensation in the mouth when taking Propolis to chew.

Regenerating, healing
Propolis, more specifically ferulic acid, has the ability to stimulate the regeneration and growth of skin cells for better healing. It helps in the regeneration of cells and delays their aging by activating the synthesis of collagen and elastin. The alcoholic extract and the ointments of Propolis accelerate the healing of burns.

Detoxifying, hepato-protective
Propolis protects the liver against chemotherapy, alcohol and drugs.

Anticancer
According to tests carried out in vitro (on mice), Propolis could be an interesting adjuvant to current treatments against certain forms of cancer. Further research is needed to validate these hypotheses on humans.

 

Dosage

A single spray in the mouth 3 times a day, for a maximum of 7 days. Due to the presence of alcohol, this product is strictly reserved for adults. For children aged 6 and over, there are non-alcoholic preparations based on glycerin.
